HIRE HOUSTON YOUTH 2018

Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner announced applications are now open for the Hire Houston Youth program. Mayor Turner launched the program in 2016. It offers jobs and internships for Houston youth ages 16 to 24. Jobs last at least seven weeks and minimum pay is $8 an hour. Last year, Hire Houston Youth provided 5,100 jobs. This year, the mayor’s goal is to see 7,500 youth hired. He’s asking local businesses to pledge a job, or sponsor a youth to work at a local non-profit.
